POSTPONED TO FALL - Part 2: Open Pedagogy: Designing Engaging Assignments In-Person
Open Pedagogy: Designing Engaging Assignments
If you've been thinking about how to make your courses more learner-centred, participatory, and engaging for 21st century students, this workshop is for you. Innovative open teaching and learning processes, such as open pedagogy, promote learner agency, participation, co-creation of knowledge, collaboration, empowerment, and authentic engagement in real-world context with ongoing feedback.
Description: This is Part 2 in a 2-part series of workshops. Building on the work done in the first workshop, and after a presentation on open pedagogy with guidance around mitigating student risks, participants will develop an open pedagogy assignment suited to their learning outcomes.
Objective: By the end of this workshop, participants will be equipped with tools and skills needed to enact open pedagogy in their own courses.
What to Bring:
- Participants will need to bring your own device to use for the activities around developing open pedagogy assignments.
