The social media landscape is constantly shifting, with platforms like Twitter—now rebranded as X—losing some of their former prominence as users seek new spaces for connection and communication. Emerging platforms such as Bluesky, Mastodon, and Threads are frequently discussed as possible successors or alternatives, each offering unique features and communities suited to different needs. In this session, we will introduce these platforms, explain how they differ from Twitter, and provide practical guidance on how to get started on each. We will also briefly explore Discord, a messaging platform that continues to grow in popularity, especially among students, for its versatility in fostering communities, real-time conversations, and collaborative activities. By understanding these options, you'll be better equipped to navigate the evolving digital landscape and find the right platforms for you.
