Are you Ready? (For Reconciliation in Teaching and Learning) In-Person
This short course is designed to support educators with instructional design that engages in reconciliation. Participants will actively engage in reflection to recognize unconscious bias and social positioning to remove barriers to forging and maintaining respectful relationships. Approaching teaching and learning through a wholistic lens will maintain physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual balance for educators and learners.
Note that this short course is divide into two parts 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Lunch is provided from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.

Presenter Bio:
Darryl Isbister is a Métis citizen whose family comes from the Kinistino area of this land called kisiskâciwan (Saskatchewan). After 25 years in K-12 public education, Darryl joined the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning as Lead for Indigenous Education Initiatives. Darryl is dedicated to advancing (re)conciliation through decolonization and Indigenous-informed teaching practices. Darryl is involved in strategic leadership in curriculum development, professional development programming, and fostering meaningful relationships with Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. Darryl’s advocates for support with Indigenization and USask competencies, supporting Inclusivity from an Indigenous Lens, enhancing current practice with Indigenous pedagogy, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
