Indigenous Speaker Series (Hybrid) In-Person / Online
Indigenous Educator, Knowledge Keeper, and PhD student Nancy Lafleur will begin our Indigenous Educator Series. Nancy will present on grounding Indigenous Knowledge systems into higher education. Nancy Lafleur has had an extensive career in Education. Nancy taught as a lecturer for three years in the Northern Saskatchewan Indigenous Teacher Education Program (NSITEP) in Lac La Ronge. NSITEP is a Teacher Education program that is in partnership with Gabriel Dumont Institute and the Lac La Ronge Band. She also taught for many years in Elementary and Middle Years Education. Nancy is an innovative and engaging Educator who shares her love of learning and teaching with others. She is well known for her Story Skirts which she uses as a healing tool to tell stories and celebrate her Cree culture. She now attends Blue Quills University as a PhD student and is doing her research on Story Healing.
